Swedish builder Skanska said on Thursday it has signed a contract worth about 11.2 billion Swedish crowns ($1.19 billion) with an existing client to construct four new data centers in the southeastern United States.
The project will cover about 75,000 square meters (808,000 square feet) across the four facilities, according to a company statement. Skanska said the work will include building the shell and carrying out the interior fit-out for technical spaces, support areas, and office functions.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026 and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2028.
Skanska did not identify the locations of the construction.
The company also did not name the client in its announcement.
