EdgeConneX, a prominent U.S. data center operator, has announced plans to build two massive data centers in Bastrop County, Texas. The facilities, named EDCAUS11 and EDCAUS12, will each span 730,000 square feet (67,820 square meters) and represent a significant investment for the region.

Major Expansion in Bastrop County

The data centers will be constructed on a 180-acre parcel of land at 6682 FM 535 in Cedar Creek, Texas. This site, which EdgeConneX purchased in November 2025, is situated adjacent to the company's AUS02 data center, which is currently under development. Both new facilities will be located on parcel 22339 in Bastrop CAD.

Construction on EDCAUS11 and EDCAUS12 is set to begin in June. The estimated cost for each facility is $700 million, according to filings made with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on May 26. Completion of the data centers is projected for December 2028.

Nearby Developments Boosting Regional Infrastructure

The new facilities are part of a growing technological hub in Bastrop County, which is situated near Austin, Texas - a region known for having one of the state’s largest concentrations of data centers. EdgeConneX’s AUS02 data center, located at 8001 Wolf Lane, is scheduled for completion in mid-2026. The facility is expected to span 578,000 square feet (54,000 square meters) across two stories and deliver approximately 240MW of capacity, as detailed on the company’s website.

Additionally, Bastrop County is home to the upcoming Waterloo Solar project, which will eventually supply its entire output to Meta.

A Look Ahead

With these ambitious projects, EdgeConneX is making a significant statement about its role in addressing the ever-growing demand for data center capacity. The company's planned facilities will bolster the technological capabilities of the region while contributing to the broader infrastructure development in this part of Texas.
