A groundbreaking project is underway in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area as EG AI Corp, a Dallas-based AI infrastructure company, begins work on a 2.5MW immersion-cooled data center. The facility, which is expected to be completed in 2027, aims to cater to the unique needs of mid-market enterprises and industries requiring high-density GPU performance and strict data sovereignty.
The new data center will span 5,000 square meters (53,820 square feet) and is designed as a single-tenant facility to provide dedicated AI compute capacity. According to the company, the facility's immersion-cooled architecture specifically addresses the challenges faced by mid-market enterprises, healthcare organizations, financial services firms, and other regulated industries that demand secure and compliant infrastructure.
"The mid-market has been structurally excluded from the infrastructure buildout happening in DFW. Hyperscalers are building for hyperscale - the minimums are too large, the architecture is shared, and the compliance posture doesn't hold for regulated industries. We built EG AI Corp to close that gap. Single-tenant, immersion-cooled, built specifically for the operator that needs dedicated infrastructure and cannot compromise on data sovereignty", said EG AI Corp CEO Dennis Finster.
While EG AI Corp has not disclosed full details about the project, a community presentation suggests the facility is being developed in Rice, a city in Navarro County located approximately 44 miles south of Dallas. The company's website also indicates that the site may involve the conversion of an existing warehouse into the new data center.
Beyond the data center project, EG AI Corp is reportedly working on developing EG GPT, a US-hosted large language model designed for enterprises. This model is said to prioritize compliance with HIPAA, CCPA, and SOC 2 standards. Additionally, the company is working on EG Voice, an AI-powered voice assistant, in collaboration with Swiss software firm Be Brave.
The leadership behind EG AI Corp brings diverse experience to the table. CEO Dennis Finster previously led the German music software company Listify and managed a cryptomining operation in Switzerland. Meanwhile, COO Danny Cruz also serves as the CEO of DACP Construction, a company specializing in concrete pouring for data center and Bitcoin-related projects.
This latest effort by EG AI Corp reflects its commitment to addressing gaps in the infrastructure market and providing robust solutions tailored to industry-specific needs. With completion slated for 2027, the data center could become a significant resource for mid-sized enterprises and regulated industries in the region.
