Edged Reaches Milestone in Construction of Atlanta Data Center

Data center company Edged has achieved a significant milestone in the development of its Atlanta, Georgia, campus. The firm announced that it has topped out its latest data center, named ATL01-3, on its 80-acre property at 1740 Thomas Street NW.

The new facility is set to offer 42MW of capacity and is designed with cutting-edge cooling technology from its sister company, ThermalWorks. This technology enables the center to operate without water cooling and can support over 400kW per rack with liquid cooling, as well as more than 120kW per rack with air cooling. Additionally, the building will feature two meet-me rooms and four fiber entry points, ensuring robust connectivity options for its users.

The single-story facility is expected to become operational in early 2027, marking a continuation of Edged’s commitment to expanding its data center infrastructure. Plans for the Atlanta campus first came to light in January 2023, and construction of the first building began in July 2024. Once completed, the entire 169MW campus will include three data centers, all of which are fully leased.

Edged, formerly known as Edged Energy, is part of Endeavour, a company founded by Aligned's founder Jakob Carnemark. In addition to its Atlanta site, Edged has a portfolio of data centers either in operation or under development across the United States, including in Missouri, Arizona, Texas, Iowa, Ohio, and Illinois, as well as internationally in Bilbao, Madrid, and Barcelona in Spain, and Lisbon, Portugal.

This development highlights Edged's ongoing growth in the data center market and its emphasis on innovative, sustainable technology to meet the increasing demand for high-performance computing. The Atlanta facility represents a key step in the company’s broader expansion strategy.
