A Safety Manager owns the safety program — typically on a construction project or jobsite. An EHS Manager adds the environmental and health halves: air and water permits, hazardous waste, industrial hygiene, agency reporting, and usually a standing plant rather than a project. If your site holds permits in its own name and has an OSHA 300 log, hire the EHS profile. Many reindustrialization sites run both: a Safety Manager on the construction side until turnover, then an EHS Manager for the operating plant.

HSE Manager is the same seat under the health-first naming convention common in energy and heavy industry; we recruit both under one search. An EHS Engineer is the engineering-side role — process hazard analysis, machine safeguarding, LOTO, safety-by-design on new lines — and usually reports to the EHS Manager. If you are standing up new equipment, you likely need both.
