Google has filed plans to add another major building to its in-development data center campus in LaGrange, Georgia, extending work at a site outside Atlanta that is already under construction.

A development of regional impact application filed with Georgia's State Department of Community Affairs shows KDC, on behalf of the property owner, is seeking approval for PRL2, a data center project in LaGrange. The proposal calls for a 470,000 sq ft (43,665 sqm) data center building at 411 Pegasus Parkway, where it would join an existing building on the site.

The new building is valued at $1 billion, and construction could continue until 2029. The filing also pointed to the possibility of more growth at the campus, but said: "future phases remain speculative at this time."

LaGrange, in Troup County, is about 70 miles (112 km) southwest of Atlanta.

Google confirmed its involvement in the site in April, and work is ongoing on the first building. The property had previously been developed by Thor Equities, though the company told DCD it is no longer involved in the project.

The LaGrange site is a former manufacturing property for plastics firm Jindal Films. Thor had previously said the first building could total 50MW of capacity on the 270-acre site and go live in late 2026 or early 2027, with an eventual capacity of 400MW being targeted.

Construction activity at the campus drew attention in April when a worker was rescued from the roof of the data center site by the local fire department after being injured.

Elsewhere in Georgia, Google operates an existing data center campus in Douglas County near Atlanta. That campus was built in 2007 and expanded in 2015.

The company is also developing in Monroe County, Georgia, after purchasing 950 acres in the area in October 2025. Another 1.2GW data center in Irwin County, Georgia, has been linked with Google but has not been officially announced.
