InfraTech is preparing to invest about $2.7 billion in a large data center campus in Carson County, Texas, near Amarillo, marking a major digital infrastructure project that will cover more than 5,000 acres.
The investment will be made alongside a consortium of leading institutional investors. A major hyperscaler is expected to be the anchor tenant for the project, though the counterparty, anchor tenant, and co-investors have not been disclosed ahead of completion.
In addition to the data center development, InfraTech said it will fund expanded fiber optic cable manufacturing capacity. That includes new production lines with a major global manufacturing partner to help meet the fiber needs of the data center platform and other large-scale digital infrastructure projects.
"This initiative reflects the scale and conviction InfraTech Capital brings to digital infrastructure", said Luiz Fuschini, president & CEO of InfraTech Capital. "A campus of this scale represents exactly the kind of long-term infrastructure our platform is built to support, while our parallel investment in fiber optic production ensures the network layer keeps pace. We are proud to help build the backbone the digital economy will depend on for years to come."
InfraTech is based in Reston, Virginia, and describes itself as an infrastructure investment and operating platform focused on acquiring, developing, and scaling businesses across digital infrastructure, energy transition, and real assets.
