Kelso Industries has acquired Randall Construction, bringing a Central Florida contractor with roughly 400 employees and a 100,000-square-foot prefabrication facility into its national building services platform. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Based in Apopka, outside Orlando, Randall Construction performs mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection work with its own workforce. Founder Jeff Condello will remain president.
The acquisition adds self-performing construction and prefabrication capabilities to Kelso Industries, a Draper, Utah-based commercial building services platform backed by Peterson Partners.
Condello started Randall Construction in 1986 as a plumbing business operating from his apartment. The company now also self-performs architectural metals work and maintains in-house Building Information Modeling capabilities.
Its projects span the Southeast, including themed entertainment, mission-critical, space and defense facilities.
While many commercial MEP contractors subcontract some trades and build primarily on site, Randall Construction combines its own trade workforce with components fabricated at its dedicated Apopka facility. That approach gives it direct control over project scheduling and quality.
Founded in 2021, Kelso Industries operates through companies providing HVACR, mechanical, industrial, plumbing, electrical, low voltage, modular, prefabrication and other building services across the United States.
The Randall Construction acquisition follows a continuation vehicle transaction between Kelso Industries and Peterson Partners. Kelso Industries previously added Gaddy Electric & Plumbing, All Electric and Clearwater Construction to its platform.
Kelso Industries has not released integration plans or detailed any changes to Randall Construction’s project delivery, workforce or facilities.
The deal places Randall Construction’s prefabrication and Building Information Modeling resources within a multi-company group. Kelso Industries has not said whether other operating companies will share those resources, leaving any effect on capacity or scheduling unknown.
