X-energy begins construction of TX-1 advanced nuclear fuel complex

X-energy has officially launched vertical construction of its TX-1 advanced nuclear fuel fabrication complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This groundbreaking project marks a significant step forward for the U.S. in its efforts to expand clean energy capabilities and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Construction details and collaboration

After years of planning and groundwork, X-energy and TRISO-X transitioned to above-ground construction in November 2025. The complex is being built with a $48.2 million contract awarded to Clark Construction Group, which is responsible for the core and shell of the facility, including structural framing and industrial systems.
