01 — MethodologyHow to read these numbersEvery count on this page comes from one source: Anduril’s public job board, served by Greenhouse under the board slug andurilindustries, pulled 2026-09-15 as part of a 19-company reindustrialization cohort (7,806 open reqs across defense-tech and new-space employers). Anduril’s 2,313 reqs are 29.6% of that cohort, second only to SpaceX at 2,452. We read the title and location fields of every posting and sorted each into one of 12 role families using keyword rules; 413 postings (17.9%) did not match a rule and sit in an honest “other” bucket rather than being forced into a family.Site counts use the first-listed location on each posting. 163 of the 2,313 postings list two or more sites (a Costa Mesa role that can also sit in Fort Collins, for example), so a second pass that credits every listed site pushes Costa Mesa to 1,225 and Washington, DC to 149. Both views are shown where they differ. Anduril labels the Arsenal-1 campus “Ashville, Ohio” on the board; local press files it under Pickaway County, Rickenbacker or Columbus. They are the same 134 postings.Facility facts (square footage, jobs pledged, incentives, opening dates) come from the state and company releases named inline: JobsOhio, the Ohio Governor’s office, Georgia Department of Economic Development, Rhode Island Commerce, Mississippi Development Authority, the California Governor’s office, plus Defense News, Manufacturing Dive, NBC4 Columbus, Ohio Tech News and CT Realty. Salary context is either BLS OEWS May 2025 medians or Anduril’s own posted base-salary ranges, always labeled as such. Counts refreshed monthly from the public board.Independent guide — not affiliated with AnduriliRecruit.co is an independent recruiting firm. 03 — BenchmarksAnduril jobs by role familySix families cover 1,412 of the 2,313 open reqs (61.0%), pulled 2026-09-15. Each card gives the count, the share of the board, what the work is as Anduril’s own department names describe it, and the posted base-salary band where the family has enough postings to report a median. Bands are Anduril’s stated U.S. ranges, base only, not iRecruit data.379Software / autonomy / ML (16.4%)Mission software, autonomy, perception, firmware, platform and infrastructure roles across the Air Dominance & Strike, Maritime, Intelligence Systems and Lattice groups; 25 sit in Broomfield, CO and 21 in Seattle. Median posted band $191,000 to $253,000 base (348 postings with a range), the highest of any family. BLS OEWS May 2025 median for software developers nationally is $135,980, so the posted floor sits well above the market median.266Hardware / electrical / RF / mechanical design (11.5%)Electrical, RF, radar, FPGA, power-electronics, mechanical, structures, propulsion, thermal and GNC design; 180 are in Costa Mesa. Anduril’s “Hardware Engineering Services” department alone lists 36 reqs. Median posted band $146,000 to $194,000 base (249 postings). BLS OEWS May 2025 medians: electrical engineers $120,630, aerospace engineers $134,960.205Quality / test / NDT (8.9%)Quality engineers, quality specialists, inspectors, test engineers and technicians, metrology and reliability; the family is proportionally heaviest at the factories, with 29 at Ashville and 23 at Santa Ana, and 36 reqs sit in a dedicated “Production Test” department. Median posted band $129,000 to $171,000 base (173 postings). BLS OEWS May 2025 median for quality control inspectors is $48,570, which shows how far the engineering-titled roles sit from the trade median.198Supply chain / sourcing / logistics (8.6%)Product sourcing engineers (the single largest department on the board at 63 reqs), global sourcing and supplier development (36), buyers, material planners, demand and supply planning (20) and logistics; 141 are in Costa Mesa and 9 in Huntsville. Median posted band $146,000 to $194,000 base (180 postings).188Program / product / integration management (8.1%)Program managers, technical program managers, product managers, integration and chief-engineer roles; 109 in Costa Mesa, 13 in Irvine, 8 in Reston. Median posted band $166,000 to $220,000 base (170 postings), second only to software. iRecruit builds candidate density in this family for advanced-manufacturing employers; see technical program managers.176Manufacturing engineering (7.6%)Manufacturing engineers, manufacturing automation and controls engineers (41 reqs in that department), tooling, process development and industrial engineers; 26 at Ashville, 17 at Santa Ana, 8 at McHenry, 6 at Atlanta and 6 at Quonset Point. Median posted band $143,000 to $191,000 base (161 postings); titles containing “manufacturing engineer” specifically post $129,000 to $171,000. BLS OEWS May 2025 median for industrial engineers is $102,440. See manufacturing engineers.Sources: Anduril public Greenhouse board (andurilindustries), titles and locations pulled 2026-09-15; posted base-salary ranges read the same day from 2,316 descriptions; BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook citing OEWS May 2025 medians; family rules are iRecruit's, not Anduril's.Why the family counts undercount the factoryKeyword sorting reads titles, and Anduril titles are terse. A “Material Associate” at Ashville is warehouse and kitting work but does not match a production-technician rule; “Low Observables Technician” does. The 413 unmatched postings include division leads, analysts, coordinators, security officers and a handful of program-specific titles (Fury, Roadrunner, Altius, Barracuda, Dive-LD and Seabed Sentry appear in 55 titles board-wide, only 6 of them in the unmatched bucket). Anduril’s own department tags tell the same story from the other side: Manufacturing Engineering (51), Manufacturing Automation (41), Production Test (36), Production Operations (28) and Heavy Metal Production (20) sum to 176 tagged reqs before any of the quality, sourcing or facilities departments that also sit inside a factory. Treat 14.1% as the floor for production-facing work and 23.0% as the realistic share. 04 — Cost driversAnduril sites: what each campus builds and how many reqs it carriesSix sites account for 1,517 of 2,313 reqs (65.6%), pulled 2026-09-15, using the first-listed location. Each entry pairs the board count with the public facts about the site: what is built there, the footprint, and what the state or company said when it was announced.1,198Costa Mesa, CA (headquarters)51.8% of the board sits at the roughly 640,000 sq ft former Los Angeles Times printing plant Anduril leased in 2021, the engineering, prototyping and program center for every division. Anduril told the California Governor’s office in January 2026 it employs 7,000 people across 35 locations, about half in Southern California, and will add a $1 billion, 1.18 million sq ft Long Beach campus supporting roughly 5,500 on-site jobs by mid-2027.134Ashville, OH (Arsenal-1, Pickaway County)Anduril’s 5 million sq ft, 500-acre campus beside Rickenbacker International Airport, announced 16 January 2025 with $910.5 million of committed capital and 4,008 jobs pledged by 2035 (JobsOhio); incentives reported by NBC4 Columbus are a $310 million JobsOhio grant and a $452.2 million state tax credit, plus $70 million from the All Ohio Future Fund (Defense News). Building 1 (775,000 sq ft production hall plus 120,000 sq ft office, per Ohio Tech News) started production in March 2026, three months early, and the first Ohio-built Fury rolled out 27 July 2026. Board mix: 29 quality/test, 26 manufacturing engineering, 12 production technicians; median posted band $126,000 to $167,000 base. Fury, Roadrunner and Barracuda are the named product lines.54Atlanta, GA (1435 Hills Place NW)The former Area-I site: Georgia announced a $60 million investment and 180 jobs in July 2022 across more than 180,000 sq ft of R&D, office and production space. Board titles are dominated by Altius and Launched Effects (systems, software, program management), plus 6 manufacturing engineering reqs, a 2nd-shift quality inspector and a full 2027 intern and early-career slate. Median posted band $126,000 to $167,000 base.49Reston, VA (Intelligence Systems)Anduril’s Intelligence Systems division sits at 11955 Freedom Drive (Two Freedom Square) with permits filed for floors next door at One Freedom Square, per Greater Reston Living. 36 of the 49 titles carry “Intelligence Systems” or “Intel Systems” and many specify “Active Clearance” in the title itself; the mix is software (11), program management (8), electrical and FPGA (6). Median posted band $146,000 to $194,000 base. Washington, DC carries a further 90 first-listed reqs (149 when co-listed sites are counted), mostly software and G&A.48Quincy, MA (Maritime division)The Maritime division headquarters at 95 East Howard Street covers Dive-LD, Dive-XL, Seabed Sentry and Copperhead engineering, per Anduril’s own posting language. Board mix is software (9), supply chain (5), quality (5), hardware (5) and a six-role Winter 2027 co-op slate; median posted band $151,000 to $207,000 base across 36 postings, behind Seattle, Boston, Washington, DC, Chantilly and Waltham. Greater Boston adds Waltham (40), Boston (43) and Lexington (26) for 157 reqs across four sites.34Quonset Point, RI (undersea vehicle production)Anduril announced a Dive-LD production plant of up to 150,000 sq ft in June 2024, with Rhode Island Commerce citing 133 full-time jobs at an average $95,000 salary and up to $5.4 million in tax credits against an $8.3 million build; the company said capacity would reach up to 200 hulls a year. Board mix: 8 production technicians, 7 quality, 6 manufacturing engineering. Nine hourly postings here (electronics, manufacturing and test technicians, materials associates) show $22 to $37 an hour; salaried median band $111,000 to $147,000 base.Beyond the six: McHenry, MS carries 35 reqs at the solid-rocket-motor complex Anduril acquired with Adranos in 2023 and expanded with $75 million and 60 pledged jobs in June 2024 (Mississippi Development Authority), taking rated capacity from 600 to more than 6,000 tactical motors a year; 8 manufacturing engineering and 8 hardware reqs, median band $113,000 to $149,000. Santa Ana (103) and Irvine (95) are Orange County production and test satellites with 22 production technicians and 23 quality reqs at Santa Ana alone. Broomfield, CO (55) and Seattle (51) are software-heavy. Sydney (51) and London (16) lead the 132 non-U.S. reqs; Huntsville (28) is mostly sourcing; Fort Collins (12 first-listed, 57 co-listed) is a frequent second site on Costa Mesa engineering reqs. All counts pulled 2026-09-15. 05 — VariationHow to read an Anduril postingSix things the postings say, or notably do not say, based on the 2,316 descriptions read on 2026-09-15. Quoted language is Anduril’s; interpretation is ours.ITAR U.S.-person rule414 of 2,315414 postings (17.9%) state the candidate must be a U.S. person due to required access to export-controlled information or facilities, and that clearance eligibility may be required depending on program; a further 154 use other citizenship or ITAR wording, and 1,747 carry no citizenship language at all, relying on the clearance requirement instead. U.S. person means citizen, permanent resident or protected individual; visa sponsorship is not implied by any posting.Security clearance1,502 mention; 60 in title64.9% of descriptions mention a security clearance and 1,317 use ability-to-obtain or eligibility language, so most roles do not require an active clearance on day one. 655 reference TS/SCI or Top Secret, and 60 titles (Reston and Intelligence Systems above all) state Active Clearance as a hard gate.Shift and site19 titles name a shiftSecond- and third-shift titles appear at Santa Ana, Costa Mesa and Tustin (environmental test, metrology, quality specialist, maintenance and automation technicians), at Morrisville, NC (composite technicians), McHenry (warehouse supervisor) and Atlanta (2nd Shift Quality Inspector). Ashville postings rarely name a shift in the title, but Arsenal-1 is a production hall; expect shift structure to grow as Building 1 fills.Level codesSenior 811, Staff 158, Principal 16Anduril uses Engineer, Senior, Staff and Principal for individual contributors and Manager (277 titles), Director (63) and Deputy Head or Head for leaders; there are no numeric grade codes in titles. Early-career and intern titles (25, all but one dated 2026 or 2027) and co-op slates run by season.Comp bands85.1% post a range1,971 postings show a U.S. base range described as an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only; Anduril adds that highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers. Median posted band is $146,000 to $194,000; 169 postings (7.3%) post an hourly range instead; production technician and trades titles (62 hourly postings) run a median $37 to $49 an hour, entry-level technician and materials roles $25 to $33, and an Ashville production coordinator $22 to $28.Interview loopnot describedNo posting describes the interview stages, and Anduril’s careers pages do not publish a loop. The only process language in the descriptions is a warning about fraudulent recruiters impersonating Anduril, which is itself a useful read: the company hires only through its own site, and any third party promising access is not legitimate. The practical consequence for a candidate: on most postings the gate is clearability first, with an explicit U.S.-person requirement on the export-controlled programs, then site. For an employer competing for the same people, the posted bands are the benchmark you are bidding against; the software floor at $191,000 base and the program-management floor at $166,000 base are what a candidate in Costa Mesa or Reston sees in the next tab. 06 — TrendHiring trend: what the board shows and what the press addsThis is the first monthly pull in the series (2026-09-15), so there is no prior board snapshot to diff against yet; counts refreshed monthly from the public board will make the next edition a true trend line. What the single snapshot does show is composition: 2,313 open reqs for a company that told the California Governor’s office in January 2026 it had 7,000 employees, a ratio of roughly one open req per three current staff, and Ohio Tech News reported headcount around 7,500 and approaching 8,000 by March 2026.The public record is consistent on pace. Anduril’s Wikipedia entry, citing contemporaneous reporting, tracks headcount from about 90 in 2019 to about 400 in early 2021, more than 1,000 hires in a nine-month stretch of 2024, and 7,000 by 2026; the same compilation lists a $2.5 billion round at a $30.5 billion valuation in June 2025 and further rounds in 2026 at $60 billion and $61 billion. Arsenal-1 went from announcement to first production aircraft in 557 days (JobsOhio, 27 July 2026), in a configuration rated for up to 150 aircraft a year, with roughly 250 Ohio employees expected by the end of 2026 (Ohio Tech News, 20 March 2026) against 4,008 pledged by 2035.The forward indicators on the board are the dated cohorts and the division tags: full 2027 intern and early-career slates at Costa Mesa, Atlanta and Ashville, a six-role Winter 2027 co-op set at Quincy, 63 product sourcing engineer reqs (a supply-chain build-out precedes a volume ramp), and 41 manufacturing automation reqs. Long Beach (mid-2027, 1.18 million sq ft) and the remaining Arsenal-1 buildings (seven per Ohio Tech News, ten per developer CT Realty; the campus total is the same 5 million sq ft) are the next two hiring waves already announced. 07 — WorkforceWhat this means for the defense-tech labor marketAnduril is competing for the same people as the rest of the cohort: SpaceX (2,452 open reqs), Shield AI (491), Rocket Lab (510), Saronic (209), Hadrian (147) and a dozen smaller boards, 7,806 reqs in total pulled 2026-09-15, with Costa Mesa, Long Beach and Hawthorne the three largest metros in the set. The overlap is sharpest in exactly the families a factory needs: manufacturing engineering (471 cohort-wide), quality / test / NDT (536) and production technicians (748). In central Ohio the competition is different in kind: Arsenal-1’s 4,008-job pledge sits in a region that is also building semiconductor fabs and data centers, and a manufacturing engineer or controls engineer there has offers from three industries, not three drone companies. See aerospace and defense manufacturing recruiting and manufacturing recruiting.Where iRecruit fits, honestly: we do not recruit for Anduril and cannot influence its process. We are assembling a network of manufacturing, quality, supply-chain and program talent, project engineer through executive, for defense-tech and advanced-manufacturing employers building or scaling U.S. production, and we screen for the same ITAR and clearability gates these postings describe, because every employer in this cohort applies them. Employers competing with the posted bands above can start with manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, supply chain managers and production managers. For the hiring side of this market, see the Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing practice. 08 — FAQFrequently asked questions Is iRecruit affiliated with Anduril?+No. iRecruit.co is an independent recruiting firm with no relationship to Anduril.
